The Johnson house is a landmark in Germantown located 6306 Germantown Avenue. The building was built in 1768. If you don’t know the Johnson house helped with the underground railroad in the 1850’s, the house help hundreds of slave become free. The underground railroad was a system for slaves in the 1850’s for them to escape the way they were living. Even though the owners was white and they helped, the house meant a lot the to black people, the owners of the house help slaves have another life,a better life.You can visit the house today it’s open Thursday and Friday from 10am- 4pm.
